How do you deal with a
two-year-old when he grabs every toy his friend plays with?
What do you say to a four year old who screams in rage when
her baby brother cries? How do you talk with a ten-year-old
about the chores he left undone - again? What strategies
will help keep your teenager open with you - and safe?
Parenting from Your Heart explores how Nonviolent
Communication (NVC) can support parents in facing challenges
like these in ways that are more likely to meet everyone's
needs and nurture deeper connection among family members.
Includes topics like self-empathy, dealing with anger,
mediating between children, and more.
The author, Inbal Kashtan, is
the Parenting Project coordinator for the Center for
Nonviolent Communication. She facilitates workshops around
the country and co-leads an NVC leadership program. Her
greatest teacher for the past several years has been her
son, who has been mentoring her on what it means to live
nonviolently.
